WORKED EXAMPLE

Comparing Damage with an Exceptional Raptor

With an Exceptional Raptor +7, you deal 54 damage per hit to the target. The target deals 64 damage per hit to you.

A Warrior with an Exceptional Raptor +7 wants to compare it to a +8 version. The target is another Warrior with Hepa's Raptor +7 and Scorpion Shield +7. We'll simulate a basic physical attack with poison element to compare damage outputs.

FormulaNet damage is calculated from the tool inputs after defence and resistance reductions. For this example, we use a simplified formula: `Physical Damage = MAX(1, (Attacker Total AP / 2) - Defender Total Defense)` `Elemental Damage = MAX(1, Attacker Total Element Value - Defender Total Element Resistance)` `Total Damage = Physical Damage + Elemental Damage`
  1. Step 1: Your Total AP = 195 (Raptor +7) + 100 (other gear) = 295. Your Total Element Value = 83 (Raptor +7 Poison).
  2. Step 2: Target Total Defense = 141 (Shield) + 140 (Rings) + 600 (other gear) = 881. Target Total Poison Resistance = 30.
  3. Step 3: Outgoing Physical Damage = MAX(1, (295 / 2) - 881) = 1. Outgoing Elemental Damage = MAX(1, 83 - 30) = 53. Total Outgoing Damage = 54.
  4. Step 4: Target Total AP = 198 (Hepa's Raptor +7) + 100 (other gear) = 298. Target Total Element Value = 83 (Hepa's Raptor +7 Poison).
  5. Step 5: Your Total Defense = 500 (other gear). Your Total Poison Resistance = 20 (other gear).
  6. Step 6: Incoming Physical Damage = MAX(1, (298 / 2) - 500) = 1. Incoming Elemental Damage = MAX(1, 83 - 20) = 63. Total Incoming Damage = 64.

Your physical damage is mostly mitigated by the target's high defense. Most damage comes from your weapon's poison element. The target also hits you mostly with elemental damage. Focus on elemental resistance, not just raw defense, in this matchup.

Limitations

  • This calculator provides raw damage per hit. It does not account for skill multipliers, critical hits, or special attack procs, which can change actual in-game damage.
  • Buffs and debuffs not tied to gear must be manually entered. Include temporary effects from potions, scrolls, or class abilities for accurate simulations.
  • The tool focuses on damage calculation against a static target. It does not simulate combat duration, player movement, or complex AI interactions.
